FILMOGRAPHY
Birthdate: November 14, 1974
David’s career began when he and a few friends appeared at a casting call for Jodie Foster’s latest movie, Five Corners. There, he signed a contract with an agent and landed the role of lead character Josh’s best friend in Big. However, his role was changed to Young Josh because of more likeness to lead actor Tom Hanks than the actor originally intended the role. This role later led to other roles on short lived series, including Live-In and Living Dolls. Because of these shows being cancelled, David took time off from acting to pursue his education. He attended high school in East Harlem, but he couldn’t hide from acting long.
In 1992, he starred in the movie Newsies as David, the brains behind the lead character, Jack, and co-leader of the strike. His younger brother, Lev, also appeared in a smaller role. During the filming of the movie, David admits he had the most complications in learning the choreography, but was also the practical joker on the set. One of his pranks included stuffing director Kenny Ortega’s trailer with newspapers! After filming Newsies, David went on to film Cry from the Mountain: White Wolves II. (Interestingly enough, David’s love interest was with a girl named Cara, played by Ami Dolenz, the daughter of former Monkee Micky Dolenz. Moscow’s costar in Newsies, Aaron Lohr, played Micky Dolenz in Daydream Believers: The Monkees Story!)
After filming White Wolves II, David took yet another break from acting to continue his education. He graduated early from Central Park East Secondary School in Manhattan, and then went on to complete college. He has also has an extensive career in New York theater. He has appeared in the Broadway success of What’s Wrong with This Picture?. He also worked with the Manhattan Class Company in productions of Flying Hormones, On Ice, Steel Town, and Skaters. Once he finished college, he began making films again.
In 1998, he appeared vocally on Marcy Playground’s album, "Sex and Candy," guest singing on the title track. In the winter of 1999, David starred in the WB sitcom, Zoe, Duncan, Jack and Jane (later renamed Zoe… after the first season), in the role of the geeky yet loveable Duncan. The series was cancelled after two seasons.
David and Lev produced an independent film on a former sitcom star going off to college within the past year. David was also interviewed in TV Guide, and has made guest appearances on Seinfeld and New York Undercover. Currently, David is residing in Los Angeles and attending Columbia University, studying to get a B.A. degree in English Literature.
In the meantime, David’s most recent work is currently starring in a film called BXED. He is also producing an off-Broadway musical titled Into the Heights and is rumored to have appeared in a deleted scene in the movie The Italian Job as a waiter.
