DOMINIC MALDONADO



Birthdate: June 1, 1975

Dominic Maldonado, a native from California, got into the dancing gig at the age of ten from watching Star Search. Dance lessons began from there, and by the time Dom was fifteen, he had become a regular dancer on NBC’s short lived series, Hull High. Shortly afterward, he landed the role of Itey in the Disney musical Newsies. According to Dom, it was positive toward his career and opened many doors for him to expand into his career.

From there on, he began an extensive career appearing in music videos, award shows and touring with some recording artists. In 1997, he appeared on another short-lived NBC series titled Fired Up. The following year, Dominic began teaching dance classes in Whittier, California. He also danced at a Halloween show at Knott’s Berry Farm, and did some work over in Germany.

In 1999, made an appearance in Britney’s Spears video, “Baby One more Time” (ICK!!!!!!!!! *pukes*) and Christina Aguilera's "Come on Over" (not as ick but ICK nonetheless!). Shortly afterward, he was hand selected by singer/actress Mandy Moore to be one of her dancers, and has been dancing with her since then. He has appeared with her at award shows, music videos, and has even made a few pictorals with her as well.

In June of 2000, Dom made an appearance on Larger the Life’s chatroom, as well as having a small article done on him (also in the article were fellow Newsies castmembers Ivan Dudynsky and Mark David) in the May 3rd edition.

He is still dancing with Mandy, so watch for him on her shows and music videos! Also, he has recently made an appearance on the season finale of Will and Grace (which, by the way, is one of his favorite shows) and in "Goldmember" as a jailhouse dancer.
