LUKE EDWARDS

Whoa...major difference since 1992!
Birthdate: March 24, 1980

Lucas Daniel Edwards was born in Nevada City, California and was raised in the beautiful (and freezing cold) Sierra Nevada mountain range until the age of five when his family moved to Los Angeles (too bad, I wouldn’t give up living there!). He was schooled there, and for an extracurricular activity and fun, his mother, Debbie, took him to an acting school. At seven years old, he was discovered to have a huge amount of talent at an early and began appearing in a few commercials.

Soon, commercials led to TV appearances. Luke appeared on several TV shows, including an episode of Parker Lewis Can’t Lose in an episode titled: "Science Fair" before making his feature film debut as an institutionalized kid in The Wizard. His breakthrough role came in the Emmy nominated made-for-TV movie I Know my first name is Steven, playing the younger version of the title character. He later appeared in the movie, Newsies, as Les, the kid brother of supporting character, David. He also sang on the soundtrack. During filming of Newsies, Steven Spielberg called and asked Kenny Ortega if he could “borrow” Luke to play the part of Jack in the film Hook. Kenny declined for Luke and he continued playing Les.

Luke appeared in a few more movies until 1996 when he temporarily left show business to concentrate on his education. He returned after he graduated in 1999 and appeared on a show called Strange World which only aired during March of 1999. The episode he filmed never aired. Later, he became a regular on the first season of MTV’s soap opera, Undressed. He left before the first season ended. Then he worked on the highly-praised HBO movie, Cheaters, based on a true story of students cheating to enter an academic decathlon.

In 2002, he filmed an episode of the cancelled FOX TV show Night Visions, appearing in an unpcoming episode entitled, "The Maze," which never aired. He also made a small appearance in the summer hit, American Pie II. There’s a rumor going around that Luke was approached with the Star Wars Episode Two: The Clone Wars script for the lead role of Anakin Skywalker. Whether it’s true or not, the part went to Hayden Christensen instead. His latest film, Jeepers Creepers 2 is now out on video, watch for him in the upcoming film Debating Robert Lee. Luke is pursing a career in directing.
