Dom hated his high school pictures, despite the fact he was a homecoming prince

In Junior High, he got to attend a filming of the show The Facts of Life.

The first concert Dom went to was a Michael Jackson concert for a friend’s birthday

He was not a fan of football! Instead, he preferred volleyball, tennis and bowling

He worked with several castmembers of Newsies both before and after the filming. Before, he worked with Dee Caspary in Mac and Me and in Paula Abdul’s “Straight Up!” video; director/choreographer Kenny Ortega on Michael Jackson’s “Dangerous” tour, supposed to work with him on Salsa (he had to drop out due to being sick), and a Gloria Estefan music video. After, he danced with Kevin Stea in “New World” and the film Faith, and then with Mark David, Ivan Dudynsky and David Sidoni on Roundhouse.

In the director’s commentary on Newsies, Kenny Ortega mentions during the “King of New York” segment that Dom personally asked to spin on the fan at the end of the number because he thought it would be cool. However, they had to fix the fan so it could support his weight when he spun!

Out of all of the cast of Newsies, Dom bonded closest with David Sidoni

He had always wanted a monkey for a pet, but was unable to because of permits and the care involved. However, he was able to hang out with Michael Jackson’s pet monkey, Bubbles

Though he once spoke Spanish on Roundhouse, he did not speak it in real life

The cast of Roundhouse won an award for Outstanding Young Ensemble Cast in a Youth Series or Variety Show during its first season

When auditioning for Michael Jackson and the Bad tour, he hurt his ankle and the music he chose kept messing up on him. He was convinced he didn’t make it until a half hour after he got home, when he got the phone call saying that he made it!

On his 21st birthday, Paula Abdul threw a birthday party for him, and on his 22nd, a party was thrown for him by Janet Jackson!

He was able to get his sisters DeEtte and Monique to meet Michael Jackson, Paula Abdul and the cast of Roundhouse. He even arranged for Paula to call DeEtte on her 10th birthday after the MTV Awards!

Before appearing on Star Search, he got so nervous that he began to hyperventilate, and John Jr. had to go backstage to help him calm down
